Most Northern Cities were never forced to desegregate. Northerners looked down on Southern bigotry as if they were somehow above the overt racial hostility. This is the hypocrisy of northern liberal racism aka, “racism with a smile.” White moms (and Dads) in the North in 2018 look an awful lot like the mobs of white moms in the south.
