ok bet.

ever since Matt shot up to 6'3 all but over night ( it was actually a painful few months ) he's been plagued with the dilemma of how to get eye to eye with Luke.

he tired a myriad of different ways to get back onto equal ground. he bent over with slouched shoulders, crouched down with his hands on his knees to sturdy himself, knelt with one leg on the ground, matt even once picked his father up by the middle so they could talk face to face but Luke didn't seem too keen on having a full conversation with his legs dangling in the air.

finally, Matt settled on standing legs spread with his feet grounded firmly in place. he's almost doing the splits, but not quite, and if Matt's being completely honest it's a rather comfortable stance. plus he now doesn't have to worry about Luke having to strain his neck looking up at him all the time.

at the same time, Matt will often drop into this stance to hug Luke. Which often results in him picking the shorter up for a a few seconds before depositing him safely back on the ground. and yes, he has even once been so excited to see his father after a long absence that he's lifted Luke clear off his feet and spun him before hugging him and keeping him dangling. Matt in no way means it to be rude, he's just affectionate and a bit silly. it doesn't help that his force wielding father happens to be rather light.

now, when it comes to helping Luke reach things that are a bit out of place... well, as stated before Matt has the habit of lifting up Luke without warning, usually in a hug. and yes, the normal response to seeing someone struggle with reaching an item just outside their grasp is to get it down for them.

however when matt sees his father struggling and his first thought isn't "let me help him by getting it for him" its "let me help him reach it". which usually ends in Matt picking up Luke from behind and lifting him into the air so he can grab whatever it is he needs himself. the entire time he's grinning like crazy thinking he's the most helpful boy in the world.

(yes he has done this to Han despite Han only being 2 inches shorter than him. he did not take it well. however the lesson Matt learned was 'dont lift up dad, only lift up papa.')

luckily for Luke, thank the force, Matt will more than half of the time just grab whatever needs to be reached himself instead of power lifting him.

Arthur  let  out  a  heavy  sigh,  it  felt  like  he  was  droning  away --  the  same  thing  over  and  over  again  and  again...  He  kinda  missed  his  earlier  days  in  this  new  age,  when  he  was  reckless  and  young,  full  of  anger  and  frustration.  He  liked  to  believe  he’d  grown  since  then,  especially  now  that  he  didn’t  just  charge  into  every  situation  believing  a  blade  would  solve  it.

He  leaned  back  into  the  seat  of  his  personal  quarters,  not  really  doing  much  other  than  listening  to  somachord  tunes  and  staring  out  at  space.  He  was  brought  out  of  his  mindless  staring  when  Merlin,  his  ship  Cephalon,  spoke  up.

❛ Sir  Arthur,  I’m  picking  up  a  strange  signal.  It’s  on  Lua,  do  you  wish  to  see  it? ❜

          Arthur  pushed  himself  up  and  started  heading  to  the  cockpit,  ❛ Yeah,  bring  us  in.  It  could  be  another  weird  Mutagen  thing.  might  as  well  put  a  stop  to  it  before  it  spreads. ❜  He  cursed  under  his  breath  thinking  of  the  possibility  of  infestation  massing  in  his  home.

When  he  popped  out  of  his  Xiphos,  sword  at  his  side  and  the  ready,  he  started  to  follow  Merlin’s  directions  to  where  the  signal  was  coming  from.  When  he  turned  a  corner  he  spotted  it... 

Han  fucking  Solo  in  the  center  of  two  fronts,  one  side  grineer,  the  other  corpus.  An  unseen  smile  soon  found  its  way  onto  his  face,  finally,  something  interesting.  Energy  built  up  into  his  hand  until  he  drew  out  a  radiant  blade  made  of  pure  void  energy.  He  dashed  forward  to  clear  the  grineer  on  the  other  side  of  Han,  ❛ You  get  into  trouble  a  lot. ❜  / @stillsolo

Please give some major jazz hands to stillsolo, who is quite simply the best Han Solo ever. Their portrayal is smooth, witty, and charming, and they manage to capture both the humor and adventure of all the Han Solo stories I remember so fondly enjoying in my youth. The day had gone by smoothly so far. In fact– it could be considered mellow and, in a way, that was fortunate. The young college student wasn’t particularly rich, nor poor but simply spent a lot of his time working or completing tiresome essays, which he definitely had a distaste for(they took up so much of that time he had). For the past hour or so, he had been out and about, using this time to his advantage to wander through the city, which he had only conveniently relocated to a few months ago.

The streets were newly paved and the buildings in the area he had wandered into appeared to be modern. Every now and again, he’d catch sight of a mural on a wall. Some styles—although he wasn’t much of an artist, he recognized as retro while others were modern, full of vibrant colours and abstract images. As time passed, he began to near a casual sort of cafe. From the outside, he saw a few people sitting at tables, either chatting with who they sat with or speaking with someone over the phone. Either way, the place that he would have expected to be quiet was buzzing with nothing but activity. As he walked closer, he unexpectedly caught sight of two classmates of his. While he didn’t often dislike or genuinely get annoyed with someone, he wasn’t exactly fond of hanging around them. The two, in short, were snobs. In order to avoid the pair, he came up with an idea. Foolish as it might be, it could at least get him further away from them.

Glancing to his right, he found no one that was quite appealing to him but upon looking to his left, he caught sight of a handsome brunette. He would do. Definitely. A smile spread across his soft pink lips as he headed toward the taller male. However, the young blonde knew he’d have to think of some kind of exchange to keep the other with him long enough until his classmates left. Coffee, that could work. After all, most people enjoyed that. Even though before walking up to the man he had now planned this, his chest seemed to tighten as he finally was in front of him.

Parting his lips — he quickly drew out the needed words. ❝I’ll buy you coffee if you hold my hand for five minutes.❞ That was a decent offer, wasn’t it?
