got a random cheap fountain pen for 2.20€ to avoid over-using my beloved Schneider Opus that I've had since 2019, dropped on the nib probably one time to many, used so much that the paint wore off, gets ink on my hands like crazy, was criticized by every tutor for writing too widely, yet helped me through two sets of national exams, took it with me abroad for uni, forgetting, of course, to bring cartridges too and which I almost always have with me.
Once, I got a new one in high school, but it felt weird to use because I had gotten used to the fucked up nib, and then I got a couple more after I saw they were changing the design of the fountain pen I had seen on every classmate's desk for years and years...but some fuckass instinct tells me to keep them in the packaging "just in case".
The new pen is pretty much unbranded and cost ~2.20€ in my currency but I was surprised to see how well it writes, though too thinly compared to the old one, however weirdly it makes the text look cleaner. Bought completely on a whim while searching for the mug aisle in a hypermarket. I liked that it looks serious and, more than that, the low price!
Text: the chorus from my favourite song, "Amintire cu haiduci" by Valeriu Sterian.
