I may have over done it with the peppermint candies this yeah (I know?! Is that even a thing?). I have a giant bag staring up at me questioning my hurried snack choices. 🍬 Instead of breaking them up into chocolate bark, I thought I’d whip them up into this fun, whimsical spin on the Stinger Cocktail you can enjoy for your #NYE celebrations! 🎉 YUM. #ad⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Let’s shake off 2017 and welcome 2018 with this bubbly, fun cocktail shall we? I know I could use a little fun after THIS year... And guess what? ALL the ingredients you can grab at your local @RalphsGrocery so you’ll definitely want to stock up before Sunday night! My local Ralphs has an extensive selection of sparkling wine AND booze (and also candy. So. Much. Candy.).⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I used a cotton candy maker to make my garnish but you could easily swap that out with the creme de menthe (but I highly recommend a cotton candy maker. You should make that a 2018 YEAR OF THE FUN goal). You can also use pre-made cotton candy too!⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The Stinger Royale 🥂⠀ 2 oz brandy⠀ 1 oz white creme de menthe (peppermint liqueur) OR 3” section of peppermint cotton candy⠀ 2-3 oz sparkling wine, chilled⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In a mixing glass 2/3 filled with ice, pour in brandy and creme de menthe (if using cotton candy, leave out creme de menth). Stir to chill 20 seconds and strain into a champagne flute. Top with sparkling wine. Stir gently to combine. Garnish glass with cotton candy if using (you’ll get a hit of peppermint with each sip!). It’s finally getting chilly here in SoCal and @anchorspirits has saved me just in time with this winter-warmer kit! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m kicking up my feet tonight in front of the fire and channeling an English manor house with a warm tipple mixed with @thekingsginger. These charming cups from @falconenamel are keeping my hands warm, and peeking over there in the corner is a blanket from @thefuturekept to snuggle with. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Now I just need a Corgi to jump up in my lap and I’ll be set. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Looking for a warming winter cocktail? Try this: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ From Elliot Clark (@shhmelliot) at @trickdogbar ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1 oz The King’s Ginger 1 oz No. 3 Gin .75 amontillado sherry .5 oz Sencha-cinnamon syrup (see below) .25 fresh lemon juice 3 dashes Angostura 4 oz hot water ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Warm all and top with hot water. Garnish with a lemon wheel and a thin disc of fresh ginger ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Sencha-cinnamon syrup: Use 25 grams of sencha green tea, and combine with 8 oz of hot (not quite boiling) water. Let steep for 1 minute, then strain. Take strained green tea and combine in small saucepan with 1 cup of cane sugar (substitute brown sugar for a darker, richer flavor). Heat over low heat until sugar is completely dissolved, remove from heat and add 75 grams cinnamon sticks (about 4-5 sticks 2” in length). Let sit for 30 minutes, 45 for a more intense cinnamon flavor, stirring occasionally. Pull out cinnamon sticks.
