I wish you guys would name names. I keep seeing people talk about these writers who sound like assholes and I never see anything but I'm pretty loose with the block button. I just don't want to be thinking someone is awesome but it turns out they're butt faces. I've seen some multishippers in the tags which I must admit I really am not a fan of but only one writer who's kind of annoying when they go on their tirade but...
We actually got dozens of requests for this - but we’re replying your ask only, because you were the only one who didn’t do it on anon (kudos to you :) but this reply goes to everyone else as well, I guess. So far, no names have been named. Except in our inbox, where someone has listed with 100% accuracy simply based on hints and likely on their personal experiences with the fandom faux celebrities. We’re being asked to name names so that people stop supporting the work of these individuals. Meanwhile, these individuals have minions who keep leaving hints like a previous post bashing our words at our door. It’s a messy sounding thing but it would be cleared up with clear vision.
Once again (for those willing to hear): this isn’t a hate blog and yet these individuals have labelled it as such. IN FACT, one of these individuals made up a new account, spammed us with rude demands to censor ourselves (since Outlaw Queen was already such an oppressed entity somehow because hell yeah, heterosexuality is so marginalized), and THEN went back to their own original blog and started posting that we were bullies and a hate blog. THAT individual has outed herself already. And all because Outlaw Queen, a stupid fake relationship on a tv show, was being called out for inherent sexism and heteronormativity within the concept/plot by us. We wanted to have critical discussion, and a small group of people who made their name originally promoting a marginalized “ship” and who had already turned on both the marginalized people within the fandom (ACTUAL bullying) and ran amok accusing everybody else of bullying them for their immense desire to see Robin Hood at a convention or some shit, came after US before we’d posted more than a few things calling Outlaw Queen a sexist concept (because generally speaking the idea is that Regina Mills’ “happiness” should not be dependent on a heterosexual relationship).
The only reason we got into “naming names” was because these people would not stop coming at us and also because others do not want to support their work now that their true colors are showing. Our blog is a critical discussion blog and when critical discussion turns to the sexist and heteronormative bullying that has occurred in the OUaT fandom, then our zero tolerance policy surfaces. Contrary to the beliefs of some of the not-yet-named, it is possible to perpetuate heteronormativity and hate against femslash shippers if one is also a femslash shipper, and even a woman and yes, even a gay/lesbian/bisexual/queer identified woman. That is how oppression works, right? Some people jump to the top of the cornucopia and refuse to help their own kind when the genetically engineered tigers are sent in, and some people refuse to acknowledge that solidarity means understanding that those people in oppressive roles or normative identities will never like them more just because they throw other oppressed people under the bus.
So we are not planning to name names, as you all probably know or (based on your responses) at least have an inkling. So whether you’re going to support them or not, it’s your choice. But at this point (and despite provocations we’ve received) we refuse to stir more shit. Seeing that those same people do it enough for everyone.
Hence. No names. You could just keep your eyes out for people calling our blog a “hate” blog, and appropriating the very points that femslash shippers have made in response to their own bullying (that they themselves should not be labelled as such) and promoting the fanfiction writings of only a handful of writers over and over. Or, PM people in the femslash community who have personal experiences with these individuals.
