Robyn’s Dancing On My Own is the quintessential girl anthem. Is there any girl out there who doesn’t love the dance pop classic? I can’t imagine a song more glorifying. Even if you are dancing with your closest friends, you’ll briefly want to dance in solitude. It’s a big F you to the rest of the world, a resolute “I’ll keep doing my own thing anyway”, the electronic pop version of Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive. As such, any impressive remix of the tune is welcome in my book. Norwegian producer Stisema offers up exactly that with his ravishing deep house interpretation of the song. His rotund jabbing remix is well worthy of those late night hours at the club. The crowd has thinned. Perhaps you’re the only set of feet left on the sticky dance floor. Framed in flashing lights, you make the ultimate silhouette of strength and confidence as Stisema’s bottomless beats vibrate through the air and pulse through your veins.
