So in the Big Bang Job, season 3 episode 15, after Eliot and Hardison come back from seeing Moreau.

Eliot says he’s got to kill General Atherton so Moreau will give him the details to the auction and Sophie says “you can’t, you’re not that man anymore.” I’m just noticing the minuscule nod the Eliot gives Nate while they stare each other down. Nate nods back and says “he might have to be.”

There’s just so much... understanding crammed in to that exchange. Nate silently asking if Eliot can be that man again and if he can’t then Nate will understand. Eliot nodding to say that if this is what needs to be done then so be it. He’ll be that person again if the team needs him to be, this is too important. Nate’s returning nod to tell Eliot that the team won’t look at him any differently if this is what it comes to, but that he will do whatever he can to avoid Eliot having to become he used to be.

Every time I listen to the Lumineers, it makes me want to pack a couple duffle bags and hitchhike to a small town in like... Colorado, settle down in a small apartment above, like, a bookstore or a hardware shop with someone I met on the road. I'll work with my hands and she'll work at a cafe. It's not a lot, but it's good. Maybe we'll have a cat, and there'll be white Christmas lights strung up in the living room year round. It's a weirdly specific thought, I'll admit.
