Today, I heard the sad news that Brittanny's dog was going to be put down. He was a good dog and will forever be in our hearts. I'm dedicating this blog post to Maxwell, because like the cute pig on the label, he is also a Saint. Tonight, we drink to you with this Allagash St. Klippenstein. It's oaky and a bit chocolatey on the nose. The taste is a bit boozy, full-bodied, and I can taste hints of coffee, chocolate, and bourbon. For a bourbon barrel-aged stout, it's pretty easy to drink. Considering Allagash is known for making Belgian-style beers and has been riding the trend of sours and ales with brett, I'm impressed they made a bourbon barrel-aged stout. Also, I'd like to say I really enjoyed this beer, and I'd highly recommend picking up a bottle if you can.
