Stockholm archipelago: Vaxholm

Hellooo everybody! This chick has been doing some Stockholm area exploring! Now I have a couple of places to introduce!

So, we were touristing around with my parents and we ended up in Vaxholm: a place near Stockholm that has nice little shops, restaurants and coffee houses. And of course it has cute houses too and a beautiful sea around the island. You can get there either by taking a boat or buss, or driving with your own car.

We went there on Sunday with our own car and chose not to make any bigger plans for that day. We really planned nothing beforehand! So not me, usually I have a minute schedule for every single little trip we make. But my mother suggested that we could just wander around instead. So, we spent the day walking, and this little island was just perfect for that! It was the perfect size for small walks with many interesting cute little Swedish houses, if you like that sort of thing.

So Vaxholm was cute and so on.... 

But now to the actual agenda: FOOD!

Something beautiful happened on that day: we managed to find an organic restaurant that served vegan food! Even my non-vegan parents were satisfied and they were the ones paying the bill!

The restaurant, Bistro Sva Marga, was very cozy and the food was sooo goood! It’s very well located, just in the middle of everything. I took a dish called “hälsotallrik” and I got a plate loaded with veggies. I recommend that to everybody! 5/5 yummie!

Oh and the desserts were to DIE FOR! That one there is a “raw food tryffel”. Thumbs up for this one too!

Café tip #1 Johan & Nyström

I’m extremely picky when it comes to coffee. I use immodestly money on my coffee and I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m totally hooked on good quality coffee. 

If you wanna tease yourself with a really good coffee, go to Johan & Nyström coffee house that is near Mariatorget. I’m warning you, this is like playing with fire. Even the filter coffee, bryggcaffe, is so good and full of flavors that you start to think why would you ever buy the basic supermarket coffee again. 

This is the place where coffee haters become coffee lovers. 

Happened to me... Welcome to the dark side people. 

If you wanna stay in your safe zone, they have the most amazing tea also. They sell snacks, coffee beans and coffee making gadgets there too.

Take the red line to Mariatorget and check this out! If you are coming to Stockholm I recommend you to go around Södermalm in any case. It’s full of exciting places to explore!

Hooked on adrenaline

Hello everybody! Here is a Stockholm tip #1 for you!

Who has heard about Gröna Lund before? I had because of Finland’s Swedish schoolbooks, they praise Gröna Lund in order to learn how to buy a ticket using Swedish. But I won’t blame you if you heard it for the first time now! It’s an amusement park!

Super close to centrum, cool rides AND they have artist performing there during the summer. 

This was not a pre_planned trip. I just felt really bored on Wednesday morning and had nothing for that day. I also felt like playing a tourist (going around city and trying to explore something new, my absolute favorite game) and asked a friend to join me. This friend of mine revealed to be a pro in this game and came up with an idea of going to Gröna Lund to see Marilyn Mansons performance! (In addition, this friend likes to be whirled too! 100 points to him!)

Manson was great on live (cool accessories and nice collection of bras was exhibited) and I LOVED the amusement rides! I discovered that I suffer from a huge lack of adrenaline because of the break from running. That’s why I have now a “gröna kortet”, I can get in free. Now I can go there for my adrenaline kick at any time! Haha. Oh and of course I can now see the artists there too.

I also have some good video material with me but so far I haven’t been able to edit them. That’s also why my posting is slow again, fighting with editing apps here. I’ll release that later if I can!  

But anyways, thumbs up for last Wednesday! 

Ps. Yes, 1L coconut water! Kept me alive there during a long day!
