Reposted from @stompboxbook Vintage & Rarities Preview - Week 21 Vince Pupillo Sr. - Harleysville, PA Vox Wah-Wah This silver Vox Wah-Wah dates from late 1966, and represents the earliest production version of the pedal built in the United States, predating the Clyde McCoy version. While an identical-looking (and -sounding) version of the pedal was built in England by Jennings Musical Industries from early 1967 to early 1968—and employed by the likes of Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page—only about 100 of these were actually built Stateside by the Thomas Organ Company. The hammered silver-colored metal of the enclosure would be replaced on the Clyde McCoy and V846 versions with black hammered bases, and a chromed treadle with the Vox name cut out of the rubber foot pad.
