What truth! Stop holding yourself back with excuses and you will accomplish so much. I don't have a MAO sash & crown, I live an hour away from big cities like Syracuse & Rochester, etc but I've decided to go after what I want and work with what is around me. Besides working out with my community, I've decided to seek personal training sessions with Tia Falcone, the woman who sculpted Miss America 2014, Nina Davuluri. Today I drove to Syracuse and worked on my walk and talent with Shannon Holmes, who worked with both Nina Davuluri (Miss NY 2013) & Nina Zesky, who made top 3 at Miss NY this year. Shannon has helped my posture so much, even more than yoga. I've been planning a fundraiser for CMN hospitals involving local wineries, breweries, bands, and restaurants around our beautiful Seneca Lake. I've been networking with managers, business owners and politicians. I'm still in the process of organizing but plan to host this event in August. It will be open to the public with purchase of tickets for dinner, alcohol (21+) and a live band on the lakefront. This sure beats going office to office at Clarkson University for cash donations to CMN and I am so excited to get my name back out into the community after leaving DeSales & Wegmans for college way upstate for 4 years. I can't wait to reunite with many old friends, teachers, customers that came through my checkout line, and neighbors like those that I delivered newspapers to back in middle school. I didn't do much with my state title at ages 15 & 16 but now I realize how important publicity in pageantry is. It's time to start making appearances as a civilian, explain who I am and what I'm raising awareness for. #politics #publicity #fundraising #stompoutstigmacampaign #mentalhealthmatters
