Dr. Johnny appreciation post

-I took a total of three science classes to earn my liberal arts degree. Two of them were taught by the same man. an absolute chaos grandpa

-he told us to call him Johnny

-he called himself bubba tho

-in both his archeology and his geology classes he introduced the concept of relative dating by saying “not to be confused with what happens over in east texas on a friday night.”

-let us hold fake bones during lectures so we could vibe with the early hominids

-said super bowl sunday was the best day of the year because everyone was inside & he could go trespassing on peoples land to look for cool rocks n shit without getting shot at

-really into stone knapping. Let us knapp our own stone tools once.

-taught me so much about the trinity river. I don’t remember a single thing, but when I drive past the trinity river I always think about him.

-there’s a type of rock that happens when lightning hits sand, and it’s his favorite. If you see some let Johnny know, he’ll be eternally greatful.

-if you don’t let him know there’s a chance he turns up in your backyard and digs until you scare him off with a shotgun.
