O: How do you begin a story–with the plot, or the characters?

Plot. Definitely always the plot; that’s what grows first in my mind. Not necessarily a finished plot, but the very basic idea of the plot is always what comes first.

B: Any of your stories inspired by personal experience?

Not… really, no. At least not consciously. It’s fully possible something personal sneaks in, but I generally don’t set out to do it. I lead a very boring life tbh, lol

I: Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?

Oh man… well… Fake relationship has a tendency to get to me. I can’t help it. TIME TRAVEL. I hate it and I love it. But since we’re talking guilty pleasures… over-the-top melodrama. I will sit there and cackle having a grand ol’ time. But I hate writing it.

I think, anyway. This was a hard one, I’m not really sure tbh. I guess… I kinda do like torturing my fave characters when I write. When I read it, I only do if I know it’s gonna be alright in the end. I can only take hurt if it’s followed by comfort, TBH.

W: Do you like more general prompts, or more specific ones?

It really depends. For the most part, more general ones work better for me, since my brain has a tendency to pick a direction and go in it. Sometimes when I get quite specific prompts my brain is like “no, that’s not how it happens, no. It’s like this.”

A: How did you come up with the title to “Feel How You Weaken”?

I needed a title and happened to be listening to this song. Part of the lyrics go “deep inside your head, I can feel how you weaken” and I was like “that fits!” so lmao, mystery solved. 

N: Is there a fic you wish someone else would write (or finish) for you?

Yes, but at the same time, no. Like, part of me wishes someone would finish every single WIP I’ve ever left behind. At the same time, however, odds are I’d be extremely dissatisfied with it. not because whoever did it didn’t do a good job, but more because ti would probably not be as I imagined it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Oh man, someone I follow reblogged something from your Chancellor Obi-wan verse and I read it. Now I'm here, having read the entire tag, loved it all beyond belief, laughed quite a bit, and about to click Follow. But before I do, a prompt: How have the people that would have formed the Delegation of 2,000 felt about Chancellor Obi-wan's actions? Particularly the ones that, unlike Bail and Padme, don't know Obi-wan personally? He seems to be giving more power (back) to the Jedi, is that a worry?

I’m happy to hear you’ve enjoyed this verse! It always makes a bit fuzzy inside to hear people say they like what I’ve done.

On to your questions:

Ingeneral, it’s been mentioned in a ficlet I’ve posted after you sent me thisask, Obi-Wan has avoided using the emergency powers as much as possible.Usually he goes through it by calling for a committee—these are made up ofSenators from different opinion groups (so not always Padmé and Bail together,for example)—and he sends the specific piece of legislation to them for review.

Ofcourse, he also sends a minor (major) essay with his own thoughts and thereal-life implications and effect of the legislation. For the most part thishas worked out well, the Senators reconsider the legislation from a newperspective, and in almost all the cases so far the committees have called fora vote to repeal the law.

Itshould be mentioned that quite a few of these laws are of the kind “Palpatineused emergency powers to enact it and then managed to convince the Senate thatit wasn’t complete bullshit and a terrible idea”, so a lot of the Senate arepleased to get to actually vote on the legislation.

For someit’s because they’re like Padmé and Bail and want the best for the Republic andto actually have a democracy.

For someit’s because it feeds their own ego.

Palpatine’ssycophants are of course pissed. They can’t exactly push the narrative of “Jedigrabbing power and overthrowing the Republic” when Obi-Wan gives more power tothe Senate than Palpatine has for months upon months ever since Jar Jar wasduped into convincing the Senate to give him emergency powers in the firstplace.

That’snot to say that there aren’t Senatorswho’re concerned. Some think Obi-Wan focuses too much on the past legislationand that he isn’t doing enough for the legislation going forward. They alsothink he’s focusing too much on the Jedi Order and legislation affectingthem—as you pointed out.

But ashe’s not steamrolling anyone, they’re not actively worried yet. They haveconcerns for the future “But what if he decides to start using the emergencypowers to do X and Y and then the Jedi rule the galaxy and blah blah” becauseSidious’s propaganda—subtle as it’s been so far—has started working, but they don’t see any signs of it actually happening yet so they’re laying low and waiting on that front.

Honestly, Sidious must have done some propaganda against the Jedi Order before enacting Order66. I just can’t believe that he could go “Oh they attacked me in my ownchambers—look at what I look like now— as a coup so I retaliated with Genocideand will now take over as supreme emperor and sole ruler of the galaxy.” andhave that met with applause unlesshe’s already started swaying public opinion against the Jedi so that people actually think that’s a thing they might do.

I’vetouched on that in the mission fic, what with saying there are anti-Jedi andanti-clone terrorists within the Republic.
