I developed carpal tunnel syndrome in my dominant hand and both my knees are on strike, but at least I've got a lovely room and friends who are sad when I miss group dinners. #SCWinter19 #Stonecoast #HarraseeketInn #gradschool https://www.instagram.com/p/BswExWxlOgx/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=h8vqvawpzn0s
Also, nbd, but there's a fireplace in my hotel room. 🔥 #SCWinter19 #Stonecoast https://www.instagram.com/p/BsjgiiuFb7z/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=ia392k7dldb8
Stonecoast did a post bot long ago about saying they won’t have an ooc list because of the witch hunt against Matt and that no one should be pushed out of the RPC like he was. Victim shaming.
i looked now on my laptop and found it. yikes. since @stonecoast is clearly more interested in protecting potential predators in their group instead of members in the community, definitely best to stay away from this group.
Happy 9th Anniversary of the Mostest Purdiest Pikchur Evah #stonecoast (at Brunswick, Maine)

Yesterday was the birthday of Carolyn Chute, author of The Beans of Egypt, Maine (Ticknor & Fields 1985), and most recently, Treat Us Like Dogs and We Will Become Wolves (Grove Press 2014).
Chute attended the Stonecoast Writers’ Conference as a student for many years before she got her big break. SWC director, Ken Rosen recommended that the short story writer Ellen Wilbur might want to read some of Chute’s short stories. Wilbur graciously said she was interested, and so Chute sent her a story, “Ollie, Oh...”. Wilbur loved the story, sent it to Ploughshares editor Donald Hall who published it in Ploughshares summer/fall 1982 issue. The story was later picked up by Best American Short Stories. After that, she was off and running.
Check out her interview, here, with another Maine legend, Sanford Pippen.
Thinking about applying to Stonecoast for my MFA in Creative Writing. Can anyone give me any advice on making such a big decision?
