Alright, with no sign of it coming to the local theater any time soon, I couldn’t wait any longer, “The Girl King,” here I come.

Dear @stonehengeisadestructiveforce
My entire blog might not be dedicated to John Boyega really soon.
Send help.
Thank you for sharing that tidbit about playing Tybalt in your tumblr tags on that Romeo and Juliet post. That's amazing. I love it.
Okay, I hope you don’t mind me posting this publically (let me know if you do and I will absolutely take it down - I still don’t know wtf the etiquette rules for asks really are) but I felt the need to share the full story with the masses.
So one of my teachers in 6th grade was this MASSIVE fellow nerd - she loved Star Trek, space, Marvin the Martian, Ren Faire-type things, etc. - like, super super nerd. She decides we’re going to do a production of Romeo and Juliet and perform it for our families. I was tomboy af ever since I was able to start physically saying “no” to certain types of gendered clothing, and I did NOT want to play a part where I would have to wear a dress.
Now I don’t quite remember if the gender composition of the class necessitated some of the girls playing male parts, or if this teacher was just like “Idgaf, play whoever you want,” but long story short I got to play Tybalt. TYBALT.
This Ren Faire-loving teacher was also in the SCA, and she got a couple of her SCA friends to come in and teach those of us that would be doing sword-fighting in the play some basic fencing moves - with real swords (pretty sure this sort of thing no longer flies anywhere outside of the late 80s/early 90s).
So in 6th grade I got to play Tybalt instead of a female part, perform a choreographed sword-fight on stage with actual metal swords, have a dramatic flailing death, then be dramatically wept over by some of my female classmates.
I WAS LITERALLY IN BBY GAY HEAVEN

Awwww China. Say hi to her for me.
I will! Some time when you’re down here we should go on that creek walk - it’s a nice, chill one. :)

Aaaaah. Good luck and have a good time maybe eek. I'm sorry to hear no one else got tickets. DDD:
It sold out so fast! I got online right when they went on sale, and no sooner did I hit “purchase” than I started getting texts from people saying they couldn’t get tix already. :(
It all worked out though. OF COURSE I ended up standing right behind someone I knew from town. And it was a good show, very nostalgic. :) But I didn’t get home til 1:30am and it killed me, lol. I could not get out of bed and now it’s almost noon and I haven’t even had breakfast yet and I have soooo much to do today.

the fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiic you can do it
Lol, I know. I’m just trying to reconcile some of your suggestions (which I totally love!) with how I want the fic to be. Like, totally was not intending it to be a 10K, detail-filled fic, and it’s fine if that’s what it turns out to be, I just could also add stuff to it til I’m old and grey but that is also not what I want to do, so how do words again??? And I know I’m being paranoid and anxious about it, which doesn’t help anything. Blergh. Also I’m two hours late for foam armor crafting day, lolz fml.
Alright let's start this "we're off the RDJ bandwagon" club. It'll be awesome. We can make bowling shirts and everything.
I would wear the shit outta that. I like Tony Stark and I like Iron Man, but I wish RDJ didn’t SO COMPLETELY EMBODY TONY STARK. I like Tony Stark BECAUSE HE IS FICTIONAL. In real-life, he would be a complete twat. And, hey, look at that, in real life, RDJ is a complete twat !!!!!!!!!!
