IT was always hard when the young patients came in and he had to be strict with their parents, but such was his job. He sometimes had to be strict with parents and tell them they either had to do their job properly as parents, or risk harming their children. And he’d continue doing that for however long he’d need to do it. but some days, when the very next day was off from work, it was just needed to finish off the day with a beer and hopefully some good company. So he was just sitting down, enjoying his beer when he saw someone who looked familiar. Raising his arm, he waved to them. “Hey, why don’t you come join me? Then neither of us has to sit all alone.”

Open Starter

Callum aimed the camera and checked to make sure everything looked how he wanted it to before taking the picture. He was working on building his portfolio more, wanting to be known as an all around photographer was proving to be more difficult than he had anticipated. It meant a lot of long days finding the best shots, or learning new techniques. Moving had been for the best and it was proving so, he was getting more than he would have back home in the big city.

As he moved his camera someone caught his eye and he couldn’t help but smile. He loved seeing people around, not that he was someone who talked to everyone but people meant the possibility of expanding his portfolio if they let him. He lowered the camera and slowly made his way over to the one who had caught his eye. “Hi there. This might seem like a strange question but would you be willing to let me take your picture for my portfolio?”

“ I’m not the best painter there is, but I can face paint !   Just tell me what you want, and you’ll have it. ”   The curator utters at her next client, being way to honest than she should have been.  -                                   - ( @stonehill-starters​ )

New Girl | OPEN

Miss had just moved to Stonehill, albeit quite reluctantly. The only family she had decided to pack up and move. Her heart longed for ice and snowy winter days, like those found during the brutal Alaskan winters. Not this... warm dusty desert. As far as she was concerned, Stonehill could suck it. Miss didn’t want to move, but she had very little choice in the matter. If Charlie gave the order, then that was it, no if’s and’s or but’s. She was wearing a pair of skin tight skinny jeans with ripped knees and a tie-dye tshirt. She hated this shirt. But it was a sort of welcoming gift from her friend, Kenny, so she wore it. Family was important to her, and Kenny was like a brother. As she wandered down the sidewalk, staring into the window shops with boredom, she suddenly bumped into someone else who had been walking. “Excuse you.” She muttered under her breath with all the annoyance in the world.

Soul Meets Body | OPEN

Ren had just gotten another cup of bold brew in her own organic eco-friendly cup. She had asked the barista if she could use her own, and they thankfully obliged. Skinny jeans hugged the lower contours of her slender frame while an over-sized beige hoodie with frayed cuffs donned her top. Her natural dark brown hair was up in a messy bun with strands hanging out all over the place, and a sage green twisted headband matched her sage green nail polish that was chipping off. She recently moved to Stonehill into a cheap one bedroom apartment. It was an older building with almost an antique feel inside, wooden floors and paint chipping at the window sill. As she stepped outside into the warm sun she grinned, breathing in the new life she was about to be living. Ren turned to the person nearest to her. “Excuse me! Do you happen to know of any antique stores or small town book stores near by? I just moved here.” She smiled sweetly, her heart full of hope.

     the coffee shop had been full since he arrived and finally, people started to leave. but the seats they left were ones that did not have sockets near them and he frantically looked from his laptop’s battery screen and then the surroundings finding a spot where he can at least charge his small laptop. spotting a table of four with one person sitting on it, he licked his lips in preparation for asking permission then stood up, holding his laptop, his bad perched on his shoulder.  ❝ uh, excuse me? is it alright if i share seats? i just REALLY need to charge my laptop. ❞ ( @stonehill-starters )

Hidden in Plain Sight. | OPEN

Storm had just moved to Stonehill, though given the titles on all the local newspapers about homicides and disappearances, she began to wonder if she had made the wrong move. Trying to escape her past, she set off to Stonehill as an apprentice entertainer. Dancing and entertaining had never been her thing, but it was time for a change. She sat at the bar of a small local diner, searching the newspaper for dance classes. “Excuse me ma’am, I’d like another coffee please.” She smiled gently at the waitress, who nodded to her request. Storm had hoped she would be able to find something that would help her, surely there were dance classes nearby? Not to mention she was looking for a job on top of that. Moving was never easy.

Zombie | OPEN

Zombie. That was probably the most accurate description of Elora at this point in time. It was just after 3 am as she walked home. Well, walked was much of an understatement. The blonde forced herself forward with each step she took, her path swaying. Her black platform pumps scraped against the pavement as she struggled to keep moving. She was exhausted. She had just pulled two shifts back to back at the nearest gentleman’s club - dancing. Much to her dismay she had also forgotten to pack regular shoes with her when she had left her apartment for work the other day. So high platform heels it was. Elora felt like the muscles in her legs would just rip and she’d fall to the pavement any moment now. Cognitively, her mind was butter. Melted butter. Her rosey pink sequin dress hugged her form in all the right places, and to be honest she knew she really shouldn’t be out alone dressed like this especially in the depths of the city. But she just had to get home. Only three more blocks, she could make it. Elora sighed as she closed her eyes, willing herself to keep moving. Without even realizing it, she tripped as she bumped into someone on the sidewalk. Well. I guess that’s what you get for walking with your eyes closed. Elora just barely caught herself as she fell, scraping one knee and the palm of her hands. Shit. She’d get in trouble for her knee being busted like this. A busted knee wasn’t ‘pretty’. “I’m sorry...” Quiet mumbles dribbled out of her plump lips as she struggled to stand back up.
