Spring is officially here and that means we’re officially back on! Because we live in NY and it’s really hard to get to all the weird when it’s covered in snow or 200 icy miles away. Speaking of hundreds of miles away ... I’m just going to say it. Stonewall Jackson’s ARM is buried in Locust Grove, VA. Now you know. The rest of him is buried in Lexington, but his arm went first (by a few days). He was accidentally shot by how own troops and his arm had to be amputated. It was dug up at least once and moved, because whose arm isn’t? The day we visited was muggy and misty, and it’s a bit of a walk along a Civil War battleground to get to the stone.
