I dnt know what questions to ask.
This makes it frustrating when you dnt even know how to acquire the knowledge you dnt have.
But I leant alot by observing and mimicking.
And what I've observed is that all couches' structures are made of 38x38 structural lumber. A batton is what I grew up calling it. and somewhere I read about how this cut off wood is mainly used for a skeleton.
So that's what I tried the other day
Mistakes: if I want to learn to cut with a circular saw I must learn to cut slower with my jig saw.
This cut of wood is very nimble. The grinder eats away at it quickly. I also found discs up to 280 grit. But more on that in another post. The 60 grit cleans nicely tho. For dirtier wood I would recommend the 40
Clamps for days.
They really do come in handy when you work alone. And finally figured out how to use the (f?) Clamps.
Anyhow. 90 degree clamps are truly an investment early on, even tho I didn't know how important they were.
Big mistake was only using one screw on each joint. Thinking I'll come around with the screws again: make it stable from the get go. Also. Dnt stinge on the length of nail/screw and don't be scared to sink that bastard head deep
Had to keep adding slats for stability because of the lack of screws it was wobbling unnecessarily.... 🥴
Anyhow....then I thought I'd fix that with more panels...
