If I linked you to this while telling to stop being evil, I have to say some really harsh things to you, but I know you are acting from place of really meaning to be good, and you can be good. If you listen, redemption is literally just one choice away.
If you are anyone else: it is of utmost importance that you understand that the people this is aimed at need to hear something like this, and they need to hear it from all of us. You may want to say it differently, or say something else, or say nothing at all. But for that to work, they first have to hear this enough times, from enough people.
Normally I try to be nuanced, compassionate, and so on. I am especially big on "thoughts and feelings are only bad in so far as they set up cognetic openings or otherwise habitualize our cognition in ways that cause unethical actions."
But if I had to be an unrelenting hardline zealot about anything, if I had to pick something I would summarily put people to death for, if there was something I had to pick to persecute without any mercy or room for compromise, it would be people who both enjoy and support causing excess suffering to wrongdoers and bad people. So if I told you to stop being evil and linked here:
The way you enjoy and support causing suffering to wrongdoers and bad people is evil.
If you just enjoy it, but you would never make or support choices that cause more suffering than necessary - you get a pass. If you are sometimes tempted, but you realize it is wrong - you get a pass. If you support causing suffering only when no good option exists that would cause less suffering - you get a pass.
Even if you participate in "yeah! that piece of shit got what they deserved!" when a bad person or wrongdoer suffers, so long as when someone says "umm, that's a horrible thing actually" you immediately agree that it is bad to inflict it on anyone, and explain that everyone hearing your words also agrees with that - even you get a pass.
But anything more than that? Even a little bit? Then you are fucking evil. You are vile. You are the closest thing to people whose thoughts and feelings are actually bad, harmful, and dangerous. Your combination of uncritical and unnuanced enjoyment and support of suffering is the closest thing to true evil that exists in the world. You deserve every bit of suffering you support until you realize that no one ever deserves it.
Until you fix this, you are the worst part of humanity, because at least the other monsters either don't understand the suffering they cause, or they embrace being what others consider monstrous. You understand and yet you dare think that this is how people should be. I would exterminate everyone who thinks like this without hesitation if I could, and I am sorry if that has to include you, I'd like to make you better instead, but if it came down to it, this is that important.
But I know you want to be good. That's why you only feel this way towards the bad people. You have a powerful righteous desire for justice. You see bad things, you really want to do something about it, and you wisely see that to fix the bad things we have to fix the people doing bad things. That matters. That's valuable. That's good. And if you just aim it a little better, it will flip from doing evil to doing good. All you need to do that is:
Never treat suffering as good just because the one who is suffering is bad.
