HS2 is a high speed rail link being built in the UK. Sounds great, right? We need good rail!
But not like this. This link shaves less than half an hour off a Birmingham to London journey, is costing the UK public billions, and is destroying huge swathes of ancient woodland in a country that has only 11% forest.
Front line activists are putting their bodies on the line to stand against it- living in camps, manning tripods, stringing themselves across rivers and tying themselves to trees in a desperate attempt to stop this project going ahead. It is a thankless and hard way to spend your days.
