I was walking my Golden wrong for 6 months
I used to think a tired Golden was a walked Golden.
So I walked him more. Then jogged. Then basically trained for a marathon while my dog got fitter, faster, and more destructive.
One night, he shredded a couch cushion 10 minutes after a 45-minute walk.
That’s when I tried something stupidly simple. I turned off the lights, scattered kibble on the floor, and let him sniff for 12 minutes.
He climbed into bed and passed out. No pacing. No whining.
I stood there in the dark wondering: why did no one tell me this sooner?
Turns out: 👉 15 minutes of mental work tires a Golden more than 1 hour of walking.
I wrote down everything I wish I knew on day one. No expensive toys. No exhausting myself. Just brain games that actually work.

Your Golden will thank you. Your couch will thank you.
