I first met Franco just over 7 years ago when he was just a pip-squeak going on 14 years old. He would skate Pulaski whenever he had metro money or could get his Dad would drop him off. He would skate fast with a spark in his eye and was king of ollies and board slide combos.

Now at 21, he has progressed so much! I've seen him go from big ollies to big switch flip tricks, from board slides to back smiths and from a prepubescent "lil John" to a young manly ripper.

How long have you been skating?

14 years, I’m OG

Where are you from/where did u grow up?

Different spots in MD when I was little. Calvert County, MD onto Arlington, VA

Maryland or Virginia/why?

Neither, That debate sucks. MD drivers are the worst(besides Fuzzy)and VA chicks are on another planet. I’m a New Yorker now so fuck both of you! …Maryland

How many boards did u break trying to pop-shuv that black rail in dc for Stop Fakin 2?

Five, I was going through HELL!

How bummed was Stan after u broke his board and then started throwing it around like a crazy person?

He was bummed, It was not a cool thing to do. He yelled my name and I stopped, he’s a trooper.

What is it like being 21 and not having to use a fake i.d. anymore?

It kicks ass and a it's load off my shoulders. Now I’m telling the older chicks my age is 25 so the guilt continues...

What's your favorite Timbo story?

OH GOD, someone should give him the worst dude award or runner up, "Tim Saper the Raper". He was the star of the show at Rory’s barbecue, contradicting the foes and making cat noises. One time my dad was hanging out at Pulaski and Timbo thought he was a lurker and asked in a hissing tone, “What’s your story, man!?” My dad said, “Uhh, well I’m John’s dad.” Timbo replied, “OOhhh, Mr. Franco it’s a pleasure.” Everyone laughed, Timbo rules!

Best Pulaski memories?

Manny was juking officer Snow, in pursuit Snow stumbled over a little girl then Manny got cornered and arrested with a smile on his face. He was so hesh! There’s a picture somewhere. After that the little girl’s mom yelled at park police.

"Bum Rush the Spot" that was AWESOME! 100s of skaters with their party hats on thrashing and boxes of free stuff. Joel Meinholz doing things!

What's your best pick up line?

“How’s it going? ...My two friends over there are talking about something dramatic. Now I’m saying hello to a pretty stranger.”

...My lines are usually corny.

How many days a week are you hitting the gym?

Ha, yea funny. I don’t have a gym membership any more, but I still get my swole on.

You recently moved out on your own for the first time, what made you want to go up to New York?

To skate, explore, ten girls to one guy! I love it here. A lot of rippers as well. Cali can suck it.

Tell me about your roommate in NYC?

Her name is Kate, She's the best. We just had her 50th bday weekend and she’s a great wing man on the subway.

Does Young Gauac have any chance with your aunt Kate?

G Hanny is dreaming! This is puppy love and I don’t approve. Maybe if he quits smoking dope and returns to his Barcelona esteem then nothing would stop him. Little Havana nights baby!

How is the coke in NY?

I just got off my first bender.

Ahhh, man... Kerry is her name... Escargot and red wine... I was in love and she broke my heart.
