Stop-Motion Videos
Stop Motion videos are basically videos that are created from a compilation of many photos and strung together to make a video.
Materials:
Camera (doesn’t even matter if it’s point-and-shoot or DSLR)
Tripod
Video-editing software
Duration: This activity can last for a week, or even up to a month depending on how complicated the videos become.
Procedure:
The task is simple, split up into groups. Groups of 3-4 is probably the most ideal. Set up the tripod with the camera, or if students can take pictures without one. It depends on their vision.
Basically, you take a picture for every single movement. Even if it’s tiny. Unless you want it to look like things are jumping around (which is completely fine!). Aim to take a picture for every 1/2" movement.
And don’t feel limited to using one space, stop motion can move into other spaces as well.
When a group believes they are done with their video, upload all the pictures into a video-editing software, and change the duration of each picture such that that subjects look like they are moving flawlessly.
