So I’m going to need people to stop politicizing Pat Tillman’s death and service (and other fallen soldiers for that matter). Using his image like that is exactly what he was against. Tillman refused to be the poster boy of the Army after he enlisted because he didn’t want to be used as a political/propaganda piece. He also refused a military funeral service for the same reasons (they went ahead and did it anyway). The irony of people on the right using Tillman’s image is that he was everything they hate - an Atheist liberal who was critical of the Iraq war. And had a scheduled meeting with Noam Chomsky upon his return from Afghanistan. Does it negate who he was or what he did...nope. But to post stuff and then politicize without actually knowing what he and his family are about is a bit asinine.
