After 5-months of campaigning, The Friends of Abolitionist Place has confirmed that the Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) intends to rule against landmarking 227 Duffield Street/Abolitionist Place, a stop on the Underground Railroad located in downtown Brooklyn, NY. The LPC’s negative decision will allow the Department of Buildings (DOB) to grant a demolition permit to the developers. This means the demolition could happen within the next 2 weeks unless WE stop it!
