Q: The reason I ask this is that we from time to time need to use our VM guest management server to manage our cisco routers or other hardware that requires access to a COM port on the hypervisor, or a USB to converter device for the routers/misc hardware we sometimes need access to. This has been the biggest reason why I use VMWare specifically for my management workstations and XenServer for Citrix production machines.
A: understood. usb and serial over ip would be the xenserver solution to this, but some apps might not fully support this

What is Citrix's recommendation regards to maximum number vCPUs assigned per VM.
A: we support both vCPU as single and multi-core. performance will vary by app requirements, and OS limits

A: sounds like you are trying to have the same storage mounted in two different locations. that's likely to cause corruption and we protect against that with the error message you're seeing
