✘ - to wipe tears away from my muses eyes (Snow)
@storiesxtold some meme I posted years ago
Milah was not sure how Snow had found her. She had not even realized she'd started crying until she felt the tears being brushed away.
In the Underworld, the lack of life had made the permanence of death bearable. People lived, they died, and they either went to the Underworld or they moved on one way or another. Now, though, with a heart beating in her chest once more, she felt the fragility of life all around her. She remembered all too clearly what the Underworld had made her forget: that life was the journey one traveled to get there, not a means to an end.
She knew, of course, that the 'beloved son' chiseled on the stone was not for her, but it struck her far harder than the name below it had. The name she had given him had been struck out through history, and she was not even sure if she was allowed to mourn the man with the name on the stone. But she would mourn the boy.
"We were on our way back for him," she admitted, thick voice hard to work through her sore throat. She hadn't told anyone about that, not living at least, and she was not sure what Killian had told them. "And now he'll never know."
