Noctis is my favourite ever FF protagonist, and I seriously didn't expect that to be the case when I started playing.
Same here! I didn’t expect it. He’s one of my two favorites - definitely my favorite in any FF game. I tend to dislike or feel indifference towards most protags, but a few attach themselves! If we stick with FF, I did like Cloud (game Cloud) and Zidane quite a bit. Lightning seemed pretty cool, if only I’d stuck around. :’)(At least in the FF games I’ve played, I haven’t had to deal with the worst protag you can offer me: reckless boasting self-proclaimed hero who is like…12. Or 15.)But I adore Noctis. I’m proud of him, because he never ran away. (And honestly, I know I’d want to.) He hesitated, but hesitation isn’t the same as turning your back away from your destiny. I’ve thought a lot about what he faced, and it’s scary to me. I can’t imagine how terrified he must have been. But he coped. He spent time with his friends, teasing and laughing and loving.He’s genuine character. They could have gone with an insufferable brat of a prince, because that’s a pretty common character type. The guys all need hugs, because they suffered so much and have an incredible bond. I won’t swallow up this ask with an essay (but this ask made it clear I’m doing that ignoct essay eventually, with separate branches for all the guys and their relationships with one another as well as individuals), but I appreciate you sending this so, so much. :D I’m glad to know others love him as well. Thank you. :D
