lavender ribbon, embroidered skillfully with gold thread. a dragon and a stag on both ends, initials D & F intertwined above each. nimble fingers tied the thoughtful token around his arm with care, and silently, though hands trembled. she was nervous despite knowing it was only a tourney, that he's a talented knight. done with her task, a hand brought the ribbon ends to meet her lips. a kiss for another blessing, another thing to hopefully ensure his safety. " may this bring you luck. and keep you safe. " skye blue met lavender as she lifted her gaze to meet his before looking around, spying for the presence of someone else near. finding no one near, a swift and featherlight kiss pressed against his lips, leaving her blushing as soon as she parted from him. He is captivated by everything she does: her craft, artful and delicate, celebrating them both ( united, as they ever should be ); the attentive, tender motion as she ties the lavender ribbon around his arm; even the slight trembling of her hand, visible sign of the concern that eats at her ( unneeded, endearing though it may be ).

There is only fondness in his lavender gaze as he watches, all softness, sweetened by the sweetness of her. Daeron is not one to turn his back on the gods, yet his worship is at its most ardent on her altar. If there is a blessing to ensure his protection, none would be more effective than her gentle kiss.

Brief though the brushing of their lips is, this second kiss is spiced with the words Floris needs not to say for him to understand, plea and prayer and demand ( come back to me safe ). The prince is confident there is naught to fear, evident in the curl of his lips into a smile, the amused glint in light purple eyes.

Gale Dekarios is a lord of innumerable talents. He's exceptionally read, can philosophize and theorize with the sharpest of their age, but for all of his gifts and celebrated brilliance, botany, the gardens, were not his lean. Still, the man's yet a lover, expression gentling when presented with spring. He's no skill for its language, would fail to determine what a hyacinth entails, but what care has the man to study their symbols? As he walks through the gardens with its Lady Baratheon, he believes to find them charming is apt enough.

" ah, here is my favourite niece. " the princess' hand comes to wrap around floris' own, squeezing it gently in a gesture of affection. " i have seen your father and ad hoped he might have rboguth you with him. " not very close with her cousin, rhaenys has a deep affinity for his daughters, however, and floris especially is always a welcome company.

context: vida travels almost the entire year round, with pockets of weeks dedicated to brewing, curing, gathering and drying various ingredients of her trade & the times where she may stay for a while for a good income, or due to dealing with a complex healing patient ... it's nearly impossible to get ahold of her when she is on the road. the only sure way to leave a message is in kings landing with master smith errick farman, but it can be weeks and weeks before she returns there.

one. when approaching the stormlands, because of her mild paranoia around her safety, location and travels (she has made enemies in her works, and she is also always haunted by the ghosts of her past in the westerlands) — she will send a messenger bird to floris, only signing off with the approximate number of days to expect her arrival and a pressed flower from the area she is traveling from. in that way, floris knows who it is but no one else could, and if vida is delayed on her travels floris is able to enquire in a passing fashion if anything of note has happened in the region vida is coming from (as indicated by whatever flora the healer encloses in the letter) that could potentially halt a traveler. + one-and-a-half. she will also send floris pressed flowers or flora in general from some of the more remote regions she travels, but these letters are signed off with the name of the flora, the date it was picked and the region it comes from — vida will send this type of message when she is leaving that area, so she can't be tracked.

two. vida isn't a very feminine dresser, in the way of colours, ribbons, adornments, and certainly not jewelry; once by her budget confinements and now because she prefers it for multiple reasons. however, she does have a ribbon she will tie her hair back with for good luck when she is working with potions, salves or other elixirs that are deadly in nature. it was given to her by floris, and is probably one of the most expensive pieces of fabric she owns ... and inarguably the most colourful. (clothing quality, style & colouring headcanon here.) when she isn't wearing it, the ribbon is usually tied to the waist string of her apron for easy access during her working.

the hug is R E T U R N E D, naturally, with rhaenys holding her niece T I G H T L Y against her chest. it is so rare, that her cousin's daughter should visit, and whenever she D O E S, driftmark seems ever more joyous. floris did always have that M A G I C about her. vida straightened slightly at the sound of footsteps and peered out of the corner of her grey-purple eyes , she had been clipping carefully the sprigs of wild lavender from a bush as to not impede their growth —    “m’lady , you are the only person who seems to threaten my herb and flower gatherings ,” she commented with a little smile on her features as she gently wrapped cloth around the bundle of fragrant blossoms.

she turned then with a pleasant expression , giving a small curtsy to the noblewoman.    “it’s only you who seems to have the sense to find the sweetest patches of earth...  everyone else plucks at the fringes and ends up the lesser products of the over-trodden , rocky ground...       — so , did you hear i had returned to the area or is this just a happy coincidence?”
