“I don’t like to take medicine unless I absolutely have to” vs “take the medicine before the pain starts so it won’t be as bad in the first place”
I've decided to write a story that's "semi-comic" where I'm just gonna draw a lot of pictures and try to make sure they're necessary for the story because I like both writing and drawing. It's for the gals and nonbinary pals and there's like, 2 guys total so far and one isn't actually a guy they just don't know that at the beginning. The whole premise is the main character texts the wrong number, and they wind up eventually going out. I don't think I'm gonna make them wait a super long time before they meet irl but I love the idea of the main character meeting the other's friends before they actually meet, and then when the other goes to introduce them they're all "oh shit what's up yeah we met like 3 days ago."
My quick half asleep character descriptions that may change as the story develops in my head --
Scout - MC, 1st person POV, witch, nb/bi
Lottie - LI, lesbian, witch
Astrid - Scout's sister, witch, lesbian
(Everyone's a fucking witch actually, fuck it. Town's so full of witches they have goddamn magic classes in the schools they just don't let the few humans know about)
Millie - Scout's bff
Devon - Lottie's bff, trans
Bellamy, Drew, & Cameron - Scout's friends (Cameron is nb)
Kat, Alex & Natasha - Lottie's friends
Ashley - potion teacher @ Scout's college, badass, BDE, trans
Chad - token himbo, later realizes they're a thembo actually, Scout's friend and eventually cousin's LI
Eddie - annoying bastard that can't understand Scout isn't interested (or a girl)
[Insert names] - annoying drama-spewing brats that think Scout is "stealing" Eddie and also can't seem to get pronouns right
[Insert name] - well meaning dumbass cousin of Scout's that keeps trying to push them with Chad, eventually realizes she likes him actually
Harper - Astrid's LI, lesbian, fairly close to Scout
Scout's character design
Not necessarily complete, but they've got light blue hair (witches can have unnatural hair colors naturally because I want to) and they're eyes are actually brown (glow red when using magic, because we love the glowing eyes) but since this was just supposed to be a drawing of a different character in their animal crossing self's clothes it has red eyes. My mom said, on seeing a bunch of drawings of them, that they needed to be in a story book, but this character is for a fandom and based half on a canon character, and while they're different enough at this point I'd still be more comfortable making them separate so they just share a basic design. (And actually that character's hair is white, I just liked the way that colored pencil looked for traditional art hair coloring. Scout's does stay that blue though.)
No other character designs have even been thought of that much, so feel free to give me suggestions - be it descriptions of what sounds cool, or submit a drawing, or whatever else. And ideas for other characters that could be around are welcome too!
Pride was amazing and life changing. Met a pretty cool dude too.
