Storybrick: Levelhandedness wins you the duel
Storybrick, probably needs more research if used outside of a fairytale. 5 Steps
Premise: [Protagonist] vs. [Knight]
[Protagonist]: Underdog! Smart. Possibly small, young, female, or unassuming. Objectively mediocre at whatever is the [skill] needed.
[Knight]: Goliath, (big and strong) and well trained. Objectively better at the [skill] needed.
It's fairly important they don't know each other
1. Establish competition or duel +stakes
-> [Protagonist] needs to beat [Knight] at [skill]
-> sword fighting
-> archery
-> Peaceful Option: drawing or painting (The competitor doesn't have to be a knight here. But they could be :)
(2. Until the duel)
-> [Protagonist] is emotionally distressed
-> Option: two failed attempts to wiggle out of the duel
3. Directly before the duel
-> [Protagonist] has genius idea: proposes the idea of both contestants using the left hand for [skill]
-> Option: Gloating that [Protagonist] is actually really good at [skill], and the contest would be much more fun and much more fair, if both used their left hand.
-> Option: Somebody else makes them do that.
4. Competition with left hands, [Knight] is now worse than [Protagonist]
-> [Protagonist] is better because:
a) [Protagonist] is actually left-handed. Ergo [Protagonist] uses their right hand, [Knight] uses their wrong hand.
b) Both use their wrong hands and the playing field is leveled.
-> Completely optional: flesh out an epic competition
-> Play around with the margin of victory
4. FUN alternative: [Knight] is secretly left-handed. Or both of them. I have no idea what might happen then.
5. Resolve
(feel free to use the brick. Also absolutely drop a link when you do, I'd love to look at the entire wall :)
