idk if im reading the characters right but i feel like the prisoner routes (cage, dg) still really want connection, yknow. like prispner claims to not be one for small talk but really shes just so used to being alone she sets herself up to stay that way.... especially in cage where she feels like cycle is inevitable. she just wants to talk to someone ! to have a conversation ! but she cant so it feels better to lwk isolate herself and think that there is no other way and thats just how she is rather than face the fact she still can feel lonely

also headcannon beam that woman is definitely autistic. and she just likes conversations on her interests or deeper stuff compared to small talk. so she just takes that as not liking talking at all (fool). it also fuels her feelings of disconnection from other people. girlthing... please... yap to someone.... thats why i love heartlock so much. they can listen to each other. damsel breaks down prisoner's walls while prisoner teaches damsel how to look out for herself and define herself outside of others....

Damsel paying attention to literally everything Pris says and just keeps everything in mind. Like that one time when Pris had mentioned how she was interested in this one movie for the total amount of once. As like a passing statement. And Damsel would just write that down and to plan for like. A hangout tgt one day. Or that other time Pris had mentioned how she wants to have her food prepped a certain way and she’d just do that the rest of the time.

And also just Pris noticing little things that Damsel does. Like small patterns that Damsel always does and just observes her. Since Damsel wasn’t really the confrontational type she’d usually just say that she’s fine with something when she really isn’t, and Pris would probably notice that. Like how although Damsel never really says it, but it’s just how Pris always notices how she’d avoid eating a certain type of food or avoid wearing a certain type of clothing. And how she seems to enjoy this other thing more than the one she vocally says that she likes. And then Pris would act accordingly to that.
