WHOOOO WANTS TO SEE A BUNCH OF SMITTEN DOODLES AND DESIGN NOTES. because i made him too cutes by accident and now he's been all over my homework and notes and d&d character sheets for the past 3 months. help
starting with that one up above which i did last night during my d&d session. anyway the ones below are gonna be in chronological order wheee
these two were my first concepts for him, from all the way back in march!! as you can tell the left one didn't get super far but i did establish a lot of his core features. (you can also see my first ever pass at broken lol.) the right one was where i ironed out his design and that top-right drawing is essentially what i've been using as a reference for his proportions ever since!!!
and then a couple more miscellaneous doodles. by god he is so doodleable. save me
fun fact, a core goal of his design is to cram an absolutely obnoxious amount of hearts into his silhouette and his design in general. his plumicorns and tail are nested hearts, his wings form a heart silhouette, obviously his massive heart boobs LMAO, even the little floofs on his collar and chest are little hearts!! he's obnoxious and over-the-top and larger-than-life and i really wanted that to reflect in his design. he's the second-tallest voice, only after cold, and he's meant to take up a LOT of space — he has huge feelings, his design is grandiose, he's a fairytale. i don't think this guy even thinks of himself as a real person but that's an entirely separate conversation. i need to clean up and post my smitten manifesto on here real bad but that is for another day. look at my smitten!!! isn't he so cutes!!!
and as a bonus have some pics of my tomodachi life smittens. yes, smittens, because i have regular smitten AND HEA smitten (aka shadow)!!! :3 i have a very clear vision for my HEA smitten design, i just haven't had the energy to actually draw it... but you can see my little tomodachi-ification of it below :3
smitten has been rejected by the princess three separate times, btw. he refuses to give up. it's so beautiful. meanwhile shadow and broken got mutual crushes on each other within minutes of adding shadow to the island and after pining for like 3 weeks FINALLY got together after cold confessed to shadow and it went horribly. (cold has had a crush on, and been rejected by, BOTH smittens, btw. great job buddy. at least he finally got together with the princess after also getting rejected by broken for good measure. LMFAO)
