It was one of those rare days in Asgard that the weather was not perfect and sunny. Chilling rain splashed against the windows when Sigyn woke up, and she knew, with dread in her heart, that she still had to go to her mother's hall for 'something important'. Why her mother couldn't have sent a messenger to her instead of summoning her to Sessrúmnir?
Reluctantly, Sigyn dressed and prepared herself for the day. Within the hour, she put on her cloak, pulled her hood up, and stepped outside.
Even with the thick leather protecting her, Sigyn was drenched almost immediately. Shivering as she locked up her home, she hurried on her way, calling out half-hearted greetings to people she knew as she passed by. She reached her mother's hall in Fólkvangr quickly in her haste, but as she was greeted and warmed by the magics of some of the Valkyries there, Sigyn found out that Freya was nowhere to be found.
"She has traveled to the Palace," one mentioned to the blonde as she passed by, her arms laden with wet cloaks. Sigyn thanks them all profusely before heading back out into the freezing rain.
The walk to the AllFather's palace took longer, her body cold and wearing from the rush. When she finally arrived at the glittering palace, it took no time at all in locating her mother.
"I have important matters to attend to before our own meeting," Freya told her as soon as she saw Sigyn approach. "Wander at your leisure, but do not get lost like you did last time!" the goddess barked out. "I do not have time to search for you."
Sigyn blushed and hung her head, nodding. "Yes Mother." Used to being dismissed, Sigyn turned and headed down the hall she came from, occasionally stopping to admire a painting or piece of architecture along the way. Still shivering in her wet cloak and dress, she headed towards what she assumed was the kitchens, in order to dry herself by the fire.
A few more turns and she realized that she was terribly lost. "Oh. . .no," she whispered to herself, pained, as she realized that, yet again, she forgot to pay attention to her surroundings. Her heart sank as she saw that she recognized none of the hallway around her, and she couldn't see anyone around to help, either. Tears washed up in her eyes in frustration, and she raised a hand up to her face, to try to stem them back.
Someone behind her cleared his throat, and the blonde whirled around with wide eyes, frightened at the sudden sound.
