Song Review: Bob Dylan, Drew Sherrod & Strange Daddy - “Masters of War” (SherGun Remix)
Drew Sherrod and Strange Daddy trod relatively lightly on their remix of Bob Dylan’s “Masters of War.”
And the second “Masters” redux of 2018 is by far the superior one.
Skipping the electronica that sunk the previous “Avener Rework” of the Viet Nam-era classic, the duo instead opted to add percussion and synthesized orchestration, giving the song a dramatic backdrop one might expect to hear as cable-news war coverage goes to commercial.
Sherrod and Daddy earn major props for finding a way to tamper with an essentially perfect song without ruining it. They couldn’t have hoped to improve on Dylan’s original, but they could’ve inflicted heavy damage.
Thankfully, they did not.

@nigellecter // I can’t find lyrics for this epic fucking song, but just know this is now my new ringtone. It is so good, and it just reminds me of Hannibal and Nigel shenanigans and killing people, dragging dead bodies, and being generally up to no good while hunting down the asshole who shot Hannibal.
