CRAZY DREAM TO REALITY

Right before I woke up this morning I was having a dream that for work I had to go to this really expensive house.  I can’t remember what I was supposed to be doing, but I kept messing up and getting yelled at.  Then I looked around and realized the people in the house had stolen my cats.  

I kept trying to sneak the cats out, but they kept changing color and shape and of course, being cats, kept wiggling and moving.

So I wake up and about 30 minutes later the phone rings. It is my ex-landlord.  When I went to get the last of my stuff, the neighbor’s cat, who was sort of a boyfriend to one of mine that I no longer have, snuck in (I still don’t know how he did this b/c I checked everything before I left) the last time I went to get my stuff and I LOCKED HIM IN THE ABANDONED HOUSE!!!  HE WAS THERE FOR FOUR DAYS!!!  

The owner saw him in the window crying to be let out!!  Poor baby!   There was water in the toilet, a litter box and some spilled food (but not much).  I FELT SO BAD!!  The landlord (who lives across the street( said she’d run over and let him out.

So weird, after the dream I had!!!

Following on from our ones to watch 2018, we also wanted to celebrate a few local groups that are consistently delivering some great creative work in York and nearby.

Strange Reality Music

Strange Reality is based in Snaith and many a great artist from nearby have ended up in their gravitational pull. We’ve had the pleasure of reviewing records from a few of their artists over the past couple years, including Alex Wedlock, Sandra’s Wedding and Fiona Lee.

Not only that, we’ve been invited along to Snaithfest to take photos and even had the afore-mentioned Fiona Lee play for us last year during our latest York Calling Presents gig.

Off The Rock Theatre

We’ve provided coverage to a fair few of Off The Rock’s productions now and have thoroughly enjoyed them all! A theatre group like no other, they specialise in thought-provoking, immersive theatre that brings you close to the action.

Not A Game For Girls, The Trove Of Curiosities, Fine Dining, The Damask Rooms and Interview In The Afterlife are just a few examples of the fine work and range that OTR put out and we can’t wait to see what they do next.

Black Swan Folk Club

Arguably one of the best known institutions in York (at least if you’re in the folk scene) our involvement with The Black Swan Folk Club started way back at our beginnings, when we interviewed co-founder Roland Walls.

Since then we’ve headed along to a fair few of their shows including Alice Jones and The York Folk Weekend. We hope to get along to a fair few more in 2018!

York’s Little Festival of Live Music

Full of energy, local promoter Ellen Cole runs York’s Little Festival of Live music every September alongside York’s Food and Drink Festival. It’s a veritable who’s who of the York music scene and always a blast!

We’ve been along to several nights of the seven day festival over the past couple of years, as well as Ellen’s “mini-festivals”, like last year’s Girl Power Mini-fest.

  Really Great York Groups Following on from our ones to watch 2018, we also wanted to celebrate a few local groups that are consistently delivering some great creative work in York and nearby.

Another dream. But I wasn't an observer, I was talking part and acknowledged. It was this part of the world falling apart. A huge building complex of reinforced rooms collapsed causing so many to be trapped within the rooms. Too high to jump some of the 'society's' in the rooms began to lose it and turn on one another. Tear each other apart when money was found or more food. Literally it was messy. I had escaped because I was on the first floor with a few others. We escaped into the woods not too far from the complex. And made at least two rescue attempts to rooms of people we knew and that we could stack stuff to get too. There were some random scenes but it felt like it might have been commercials. It ended when myself and two others were sitting alone in one of the rooms we evacuated. One of them was pissed at the other For whatever reason I didn't know and I some how made a large corkscrew. And one of them drove that corkscrew into the other's leg and hammered it in. Then my alarm woke me up :{
