Random thought regarding Umbridge effect: I have a hypothesis that the more intense a game is (very violent games, very difficult games, games that require a lot of practice and knowledge to play decently), the nicer the community is. I haven't seen any of this petty BS from Doom Eternal's fans for example, and fighting game players tend to be pretty decent for the most part as well. Inversely, cute and easy-to-get into games tend to spawn Umbridge Effect at least once. What are your thoughts?
I very much doubt that say, the horror community has the kind of bullshit that SU and Voltron “””Fans””” do, so you’re probably onto something.
It’s because these fucking parasites latch onto children’s entertainment because they think every moral that the show will tell will line up perfectly with their own self-righteous beliefs.
Why do you think the SU Crits stopped pretending they ever liked the show when Bismuth showed up and the show took the stance of “Murdering your enemies is wrong”? Because they’re all fucking Commieboos who can’t fathom any sort of resolution that isn’t horrific violence but they’re too chickenshit to actually do anything worthwhile, so they get mad that it doesn’t line up with their wish fulfillment.
