Hi,

I'm coming from your most recent post on @asktrio516 abt your post abt the Thicc Controller. Seeing as you mentioned that there's quite a bit of lore about her, and she has the theme of duality going about her, would you be willing to spill the tea on it?

P.S: I am LIVING for your mermaid art. The colours are so vibrant, and I like that you've used other sea creatures besides fish for the marine animal part which makes up a mermaid. Hope things are going well for you and all is well ✨

Yep! She’s one version of Dilemma. A character made up of my best and worst qualities rolled into one representation of myself. All her abilities and attributes stem from something in my personal life. I use her to explore and have fun with various pop culture and media I enjoy as well as express themes that I find very important.

Some basic info on Dilemma:

🩷 Traveller. She hops from world to world, universe to universe using a Pocket Watch, a little device of unknown origin that can open temporary doorways. It’s risky, if you do it too much or with too many people at once you can make the walls too thin and let through De’Amons from the Void.

🩵 She’s pyrokinetic. My star sign is Leo, and fire has always been my element. Fire also represents my obsession with Duality very well. It can heat and cook food and bring humanity out of the dark, it can create. It can also destroy, burn, hurt and turn everything to ash. It can destroy. That’s where the Pink and Blue Flames come from. Each side wields a different flame.

🩷 Pink and Blue. I’m obsessed with Duality and everything about it. The concept of balance being a fine line between. The same coin always having two sides since the first civilisations. Light and Dark/Good and Evil/Death and Life/Creation and Destruction/Feminine and Masculine, there will always be two and a spectrum between them. Balance will always be on that spectrum, not at an extreme. Dilemma is split into two inside, her Pink and Blue personalities are always at war inside her and according to emotions, one can be at large over the other. Only when there’s harmony between the two can she really function.

🩵 She’s married to Jack. (My husband’s Writer) the two travel together.

🩷 Monster. Her bestie is Monster, a shapeshifter who can’t remember his true origins. A traveller like her. (He would need his own post because oml I love him)

🩵 Pencil. She uses a massive Pencil as a weapon, one she can change the size of at will. It’s a tool of creation and has power over De’Amons and other dark creatures from the Void. Her tattoo allows it to be summoned.

🩷 Her other name is Demi Duality, or Demi.

If you see any characters with my signature pink and blue hair in some way, that’s a version of Dilemma and how she looks within that world which she’s most likely visiting. That includes my other blogs. She’s a very personal thing to me, considering she’s based very closely to me as a person and is meant to represent me and the things I love.

What happens if an engine gets scrapped? I'm new here and I love your blog!

Two words

They’re dead.

Once the locomotive chassis is broken down, smelted, other wise completely destroyed and/or their face is somehow ran through or detached, the ‘soul’ inhabiting the locomotive which gives them their face and life is separated.

It’s incredibly hard to do though so scrapping/smelting an engine is pretty much the only way to destroy them. The soul remains as energy, but each one is unique to the machine/inanimate object it belongs to and once that’s gone, that soul becomes nothing more than displaced energy. Their human forms, memories, selves are gone along with their chassis.

That being said, Lady is the source of the Dust (or more accurately, Tangible Etherium) that gives the machinery of Sodor it’s life. If one should go outside of that reach, like say the main land, they’d have a limited supply within them, which would be depleted faster with each transformation. Once it runs out entirely they’d lose their face and become an ordinary object. This wouldn’t count as dying, however, as their soul is still there. Just dormant due to lack of the Dust. Once back within Lady’s reach on the island or in contact with more Dust they spring right back. Funnily enough they keep the memories of the things they experience and places they go even when they’re dormant. Which is how Scotsman remembers his time on the main land, how Duck remembers working at Paddington, how The Scottish Twins remember their homeland, etc.
