New Town, Old Troubles || Ted and Percy
Amazing how fast people could run. When the protective border around Storybooke fell, the cage was opened. It seemed like half the town vacated, preferring to try their luck in the wide world than stay in the unstable mess that was magic and kings and queens. Ted hadn't even concerned himself with how they broke the curse--it seemed like every other day there was a new curse, and another curse broken.
And well, Ted knew when he was beat. Not a drop of magic in his blood, and a curse that may or may not be looming over his head? Hah, fat chance he was going to stay in that damn town. It was a long walk to the nearest bus station--of course nothing would run close to a town that didn't even exist.
But, one city bus and two greyhounds later, Ted was finally far enough away from home--no, he couldn't think of it like that anymore--that he was comfortable stopping for the night. They couldn't reach him this far, they just couldn't.
He wandered down the streets of the city, completely overwhelmed. Storybrooke was a small town, and before that...he lived in a land with more trees and snow than people, for chrissake! The feel of the city, though in truth, it wasn't even a city, was huge.
Time to bite the bullet and ask someone on the street for directions. Dammit. " 'Ceuse me, kid, do you know where I might be able to find a hotel or something for the night?"
