An interesting thing about Merlin is that he’s a sorcerer who can fling magic about from a distance and he’s an Olympic level runner but his Logrus-imbued weapon is a strangling cord.
It’s a very intimate weapon, something you have to get extremely close and physical with someone to use. It isn’t fast, either, and when you’re that close to someone they can grapple/punch/stab/etc. you.
His dad is a sword guy and a lot of his fighting involves getting out of the way of the other blade before lunging in quickly to slash or stab. Mandor’s Logrus weapon is a set of silver spheres he uses as spell foci.
Frakir seems so much more personal and violent as a weapon but also cleaner (no blood).
He also wears Frakir as a piece of jewelry (bracelet). Unlike a sword she doesn’t get in the way and she’s harder to accidentally lose. She’s quiet.
I think about this a lot.
