“ Already?” he asked, dumbfounded. Grabbing an empty can near his leg, Richter tossed it into the room. Not a peep. He then risked extending his non-dominant elbow in, followed by his forearm and hand to the same sweet non-reaction. With a chuckle, he rose up to stride back to his superior, leaning down to stare at the screen. How the Captain managed to accomplished it escaped him, but he understood the programming enough to appreciate a completely disabled security system.
“ That was fast.” Unspoken gratitude laced his voice. “Beats the hell out of blasting our way in. This is the sixth we’re digging into and none of our techs could disarm the others. For once, we can just focus on the heavy lifting...” He sighed contentedly before catching himself, “ —With your permission to proceed, of course. Sir? ”
