CHIKARA was birthed in Allentown, PA, and this Thursday night for the first time ever, CHIKARA takes the stage at Coca-Cola Park, home of the Allentwon IronPigs baseball team! 

Three matches have been announced thus far:

- History will be made on this evening when Still Life With Apricots and Pears makes their record setting ninth overall defense of the Young Lions Cup! Stray Kat has an upcoming Campeones de Parejas opportunity, and may just have a golden saucer by her side as well if she is successful on the 8th.

- The fourth and final quarter-final round match of this year’s Johnny Kidd Invitational has been rained out twice. Hopefully the third time is the charm as Boomer Hatfield and Rory Gulak are set to finally do battle Thursday.

- The main event sees a first time ever singles bout pitting Penelope Ford against The Whisper.

Lucas Calhoun is the connective tissue for the 15th team in this year’s King of Trios tournament. He’s found a lot of success with his current tag team partner Stray Kat, remaining undefeated in CHIKARA until last week where they unsuccessfully challenged F.I.S.T for Los Campeonatos de Parejas. That same evening, Missile Assault Man was attacked by the Legion of Rot trio. Calhoun was a former tag team partner of Missile Assault Man’s when they were part of Kevin Condron’s “Battleborn” group, and he and Kat came to Missile’s aid and seemed to have rekindled their partnership in the process. Calhoun and his two strongest partners are now by his side as they walk into King of Trios on October 4th. These competitors may not have been successful in their championship and tournament pursuits in the past, but this could be the year they take care of business.

- Stray Kat and Hermit Crab were originally scheduled for tag team action, but now will square off in singles competition.

- Cardiff’s own Shay Purser, who is the current ATTACK! Wrestling Champion, makes his CHIKARA debut this Friday! Unfortunately, it is against the masochistic man-monster, Callux the Castigator.

For years Lucas Calhoun has had a wide array of tag team partners, but 2019 may just be the year he found the right partner. Since premiering as a duo in April 2019, Calhoun and Stray Kat have not lost a two versus two match, which allowed them to scoop up the three points necessary to challenge for the Campeones de Parejas in a relatively expedient fashion. They will be the first challengers for current Campeones Travis Huckabee and Tony Deppen on September 7th at the Wrestle Factory. Kat and Calhoun defeated one interation of F.I.S.T already in their quest to this opportunity, and they’re just one win away from holding gold. Will their undefeated streak continue and F.I.S.T. be “one and done?”
