The ride to the hospital was a blur of lights, shouts, noises, and smells— so many smells. Y/n was in and out of consciousness trough it all. The blood loss and pain that had planted and blossomed in her lower back, was weighing her down. Though she regained consciousness briefly in the ambulance with Yeosang whose face was shining with tears.
“Sangie?” Came out hoarsely, from behind the oxygen mask covering her face, as you frantically tried to look at the man desperately clutching your hand like it was his lifeline. “I’m here jagiya,” he paused as he kissed your head “I’m so sorry, I wasn’t there.” he finished as a sob took him over, he held you as close as he could with the wires, bandages, and EMT in the way.
“We’re almost there, sir.”
All he could do was nod, he’d already called his leader, Hongjoon— who’d promptly called Bang Chan, who’d most likely called Hyunjin.
Broken out of his thoughts by your head lulling to the side as you passed out “Yah, Y/n! You have to stay awake!” He all but shouted in the cramped space as the paramedic pushed him back to the bench to sit, as she resumed treating you.
You were still holding on to consciousness, but it was hard with the amount of pain you were in and the blood loss you were experiencing. Your mouth was moving slow as the words you were trying to say came out slurred, “I love you so much Yeosang.” You tried your best to hold eye contact as you attempted to squeeze his hand, with your wounded one. “No, no, no- baby it’s Sangie, your Sangie is here.”
“Her BP is elevated, this dressing isn’t stopping the bleeding and-” the EMT hesitated before their next words as they checked the monitor, “the baby seems to be in distress.”
The world didn’t stop with those words, but instead felt like everything had faded to static—like the color had drained out of everything. His sobs only grew louder as he gripped his hair praying for everything he loved and cared for to make it through. Because he couldn’t even consider the alternative.
Even if he’d been in a state to ask what all of that meant, he couldn’t because the ambulance came to a halt right outside of the ASAN Medical Center. Yeosang’s feet felt like lead as he followed your gurney in and tried to listen to the mumbled words of the paramedic telling the doctor what they’d observed and done in the ambulance. He’d been wordlessly following until Felix and Draven appeared in similar states stopping him at the doors blocking them from the emergency room.
They were all in various states of distress. To any passerby they may have looked like the ones in a fight, covered in blood, tears in their eyes, and clothes in disarray. Stumbling into each other, they found themselves collapsing into the adjacent wall, with Yeosang clinging to them both. He’d been the first one back to the apartment, he’d seen all the damage on each woman, the destruction around them that was a testament to how strong and how much they’d fought just to protect themselves to protect her.
Finally letting go of the other men, he all but collapsed to the floor, “I should have been there, I should have protected her better.” Neither of his companions could say anything because they were both thinking the same. “All we can do now is be here.” The wrestler spoke for the first time. “They all need us, now is the time to be strong.” Was said through the Australian’s sniffles.
The nurses eventually came through with scrubs usually meant for fathers going into the OR for them to change into. They lead them to a special bathroom for them to shower, it was silent except for the echo of the water hitting the tiles. Yeosang just let the water flow off of his body watching the pink tinged evidence flow down the drain.
That’s her blood, what if that’s the last memory I have of her? Bleeding in an ambulance?
With that thought more tears sprang to the surface of his eyes, as he willed them away.
It shouldn’t have been them, it shouldn’t have been her.
Hyunjin hadn’t been on social media in days primarily because of the Cherub fallout, that he may or may not have been involved in, so he spent his days practicing, singing, painting, and crying to Changbin (in no particular order).
He’s been in the process of painting (you, but that’s a story for another time.) he had candles lit, music playing in his headphones, the mood was set. So why was his roommate banging on his bedroom door
Snatching his headphones off angrily. He stomped to his door and yanked it open glaring at the shorter man “What!?”
Blinking at his obvious attitude the height challenged man started with “Lose the attitude, Y/n is that the hospital.” Whatever attitude Hyunjin may have had washed away with stone, cold fear. Stumbling back from shock he stuttered out “what do you mean?”
Rolling his eyes, “Exactly what I just said. She’s in the hospital. Chan-hyung and noona are downstairs waiting on you.” Hyunjin didn’t need to hear anymore as he pushed past Changbin, sliding on his shoes as he went, and booked it out the door.
Spotting the company issued SUV (and the giant bodyguard that came with it) he made his way over and hoped that it wasn’t some kidnapper. Whoever was listening in the universe was on his side because his very pissed off hyung rolled down the window.
“Get in.” his elder didn’t really leave room for arguments, he sat nervous, like a scolded child waiting for his punishment. The moment was tense, not even Nova knew how to break it.
“What happened to Y/n? Is the baby okay? Why are we still just sitting here-”
Hyunjin fired off a million questions, and to his credit Chan didn’t flinch once.
“Cherub attacked her.”
His leader and choreographer both looked at him— one with varying stages of anger and the other with disappointment.
Hyunjin hadn’t spoken to Cherub since he’d ended it and gotten confirmation that she’d lied about their baby. He was so lost in his thoughts that he almost didn’t hear Chan’s next question.
“Do I even want to know if you had something to do with this?”
