Yes, you can do that. Just as you can burn candles for spells. And yes, burning sigils does charge them. You just have to be careful about how you formulate the wish. And overall how you’re directing your magic overall. You want to put the wish in the bay leaf (candle, sigil, etc) not yourself. In other words - the bay leaf is the wish for a new car. The bay leaf is not me.

The problem with the group spell I was (not) involved in wasn’t that they wanted to release negativity into the river. That would have been fine. The problem was - make poppets representing ourselves and put those in the river to be carried away and sink.

It’s not burning that’s the problem. It’s that you must be very careful what you do when you create anything to literally represent yourself.

(Keep in mind that in certain types of advanced practice, this might be handled differently. But I always figure when you get there, you know exactly what you’re up to.)

Streghella is my favorite niece of Magica (and I would say hers aswell), so she has the honour to ride piggyback with Scrooge ^^

Actually, @curly-hair-club only sent me the comic because of the dimeshipping handshake in it. But then I found the whole story so interesting that I wanted to know what was happening. And here we are! (sorry we don’t have better quality U.U)

The story gives again a good insight on Magicas personality. That she is actually good deep in her heart and loves her family. I don't see Streghella as her real niece. My comic Magica headcanon is still that she is an only child. But her parents had many siblings and their descendants call Magica aunt. Like Gladstone and Fethry call Scrooge an uncle!

Streghella looks like she could be the granddaughter of Magica's uncle Gianni. This is now my headcanon for her.

Be that as it may. It is clear that Magica cares a lot about Streghella, that she sees that she has the same problems in school as she did then and tries to spare her the suffering. First she tries to take advantage of the situation in the course of the story, but when she hears how much Streghella counts on her and loves her she doesn't get it over her heart and plays along.

Scrooge seems to feel the same way. He immediately agrees with the girls' plan, despite the risk. I think he really wishes him and Magica could make peace. Which is totally different from just being rid of her.

Now he has no idea that Magica is not under Streghella's spell. But he suspects it. But his look towards April and Magica's hint later in front of the money bin shows that he played along just like Magica, for the sake of the children. Without consultation. Simply because the two are so similar.

Also Mim turns out to be a real friend again. She could have blown the whistle on everything, but although she is anything but in agreement, she accepts it grumbling. For Magica's sake. At the end she even notices that something good is hidden in Magica...
