Time to debrief!
Well... Episode 133 of WTNV was quite an adventure. Joseph Fink really wasn’t kidding when he said it was a “leap into the unknown”.
Well now they’ve left us with THIS for the next two weeks (*edit: MONTH)- three endings to a single episode and we have no idea which ending is the true ending. Or if any of the endings are the true ending- maybe they’re all the true ending!
However... I personally think it’s more likely that none of them are the true ending.
Just because Finkor released three endings to the episode with the episode doesn’t mean that’s actually how it ended. Maybe on the 15th they’ll release the true ending, the true culprit to this mess.
I wanna run through who I think could possibly be the true culprit real quick.
So far the people who have been shown as the culprit are:
-Earl Harlan
-Telly the Barber
-Leann Hart
First and foremost I just want to say that even though they dropped a hint that it MIGHT be him I am convinced that Carlos is NOT THE CULPRIT. He was clearly in his lab during the entire fiasco and only actually showed up in Telly’s ending (which nearly made me cry... I missed him so much). Also, yes he said that he’d tracked the problem back to when he arrived, but that easily could’ve only happened in one timeline! As far as I’m concerned, our precious, perfect Carlos is in the clear.
So here’s who I think COULD be the culprit:
Kevin- Yeah, Kevin. We’re talking about Kevin here, y’all. He just spent a crazy amount of time in the Desert Otherworld, where time has been known to be pretty wonky. Besides, I still think they’re repeating the timeline from 100 episodes back, and if so, we’re definitely due for a visit from Desert Bluffs Too.
The Faceless Old Woman Who Secretly Lives In Your Home- This would not be a surprise to me. We haven’t heard from her in ages. In the time that it’s been since we last saw her, she easily could’ve figured out how to mess up time in Night Vale. And she’s been trying to get into the position of Mayor for 4 years now! Not to mention there was that point in the episode where even the mayoral position was in flux too!
Huntokar- Do I even need to give any reasoning?
Any other ‘God’ figure in Night Vale that Huntokar mentioned before Matryoshka
Erika- The Erikas have shown proof of awesome power from the beginning. Who’s to say they aren’t the cause of this?
The Hooded Figures- Person in hood and mask? Static? Floating? What else could they be capable of doing?
Kelloggs- I mean it’s Strelloggs man. Strelloggs. They’ve been dead set on messing up Night Vale from the beginning. NO ONE LIKES YOU STRELLOGGS
Dana- I mean stuff has been weird with Dana from the beginning. She just had another version of herself come and try to kill her. She spent time in the Dog Park. She killed her double- she could’ve done this to reverse time to avoid having killed her double!
The City Council- City Council has been messing crap up in Night Vale all the time too. Also may I mention the attempt at a relationship they had with Station Management?
Station Management- See above. Also, all that dirt they have to import in... maybe they’re using time to get more dirt quicker and cheaper?
I mean that’s all I have right now, but I’ll be sure to post more possible culprits if I come up with any.
