Here are six ways strength training supports your overall health — beyond building muscle and burning fat.
I’m falling in love with Experience L!fe magazine. It’s just all around interesting, and it doesn’t focus to much on one topic...sometimes I get bored with fashion or cooking magazines because every issue is just the same “OMG FAB” articles over and over again. EL Mag seems to have a good variety of articles, and this one about strength training made me want to cross train and appreciate all the benefits of strength training on top of my running regimen.
Summary of what strength training can do for you:
1. Keep you healthy (Overall health, not just muscle)
2. Helps you age well
3. Balances your hormones
4. Keeps you lean
5. Tones your gray matter (aka improves mental capacity an decreases chances of/symptoms of dementia)
6. Can inspire you
Morgan’s Workout
My friend Morgan asked me to design her a 3 week workout plan that consisted of 3-4 days in the gym. Her and I both taught group exercise together and Les Mills Tone, but when she took a full time position in an office, she stopped working out as much. Morgan described being “perfectly sore” after week one. I thought that I would share the plan with anyone interested! Day One is listed below and you can find the rest of the plan on my Instagram page highlight!

I’ve been putting in a lot of work lately on my upper body and it’s so MOTIVATING to see it pay off! Ladies, you won’t get man arms or become super jacked by working your upper body. You’ll get nice toned muscles with some extra strength perfect for wedding dress shopping! 💪🏼👰🏼🔥
