I struggle sometimes with under or overeating. Not because I want to or because I can’t stop eating. But often times I don’t know what I want to eat.
This usually results in one of two things:
1. I refuse to eat anything until it’s the “right” food. This means often I will starve or just not eat until something I think sounds good is served or comes to mind.
2. I start “hunting” for the right food. I take a bite of this, a bite of that, sometimes cooking a full meal. And after I’ve eaten a bunch of random things, I realize that they’re still not the “right” foods and I’m still actually hungry… because hunger to me isn’t a physical feeling but a mental one. My brain decides if the food I had was “correct.” This results in overeating.
If you deal with something similar, what do you do to curb this? I tried creating a tray of foods in the fridge I could just pull out to snack on, but I really don’t like cold food and it was going to waste.
When I go to the store (high spoon task) to get my safefood 1, get back home to realise I also ran out of safefood 2 and now have to work out whether I'll go to the store again, even though I don't technically have the spoons for it, but I also can't quite deal with living without my safefood 2 for like two days until my mom goes shopping.
