We had to go back to the vet today, because Arya was visiting the litter box like every 5 minutes but nothing was coming out. She was pooping, not peeing. Having a boy cat previously, I knew that was a huge red flag, so called the vet to see what they advised. I told them it was likely a stress response to the last vet visit, and they still asked me to come in. They asked me to come in immediately and get some Gabapentin, and had me give it to her 2 hours before we were able to come in that day. Honestly it nearly knocked her out. She was the chillest cat. UNTIL WE GOT INTO THE EXAM ROOM. She cuddled with me, was being sweet, lightly chirpy, and then the vet came in and tried to grab her from the cubby she was hiding in. Instant monster!!! She had to go get the vet tech who donned the most heavy duty gloves I’ve ever seen. She swaddled Arya and ended up having to bring her to another room for extra hands to help with the examination of her bladder. She turned out to be fine, no UTI like I suspected, but they gave her some pain meds and an antiinflammatory to help her pee. It was the most stressful visit we’ve ever had. I’ve NEVER seen that side of her, the noises coming out of her were positively feral. You are a domestikitty, Arya! Anyway, I’m adjusting my plans for the month of May. Was gonna stay with my sister who has 2 cats and a dog, but am trying to secure housing in a pet free place so she can be a bit more chill for the 27 hour itinerary. Poor baby deserves this rest.
