Nic who out of your f/os would be the most likely to jokingly go "I gotta ask my wife, they're the big decision maker of the house" and or when told "You can just tell your wife no" they respond with the like "and make them upset?? Absolutely not, I like sleeping in bed with them"
There’s actually multiple f/os this would work for, but the first one that popped into my head was Uther because there’s a point in our relationship where he learns many of the big decisions he makes for Camelot are not always the best and perhaps I have a better idea. People learn that only one person can truly say no to the king and that’s me
Soft for Ralph Dibny and just like,,,, thinking about a time when I leave Ralph home alone with the twins, and they start crying for me but of course I can’t be there so he’s stuck with two crying toddlers. And Ralph just gets the idea to use his powers and shape-shift into me. And it works, the twins stop crying. So he spends the whole time taking care of them while pretending to be me
And then I get home as Ralph walks back in the room with their sippy cups and I lock eyes with him. And he transforms back to himself and just says “I can explain”
And I’m sort of amused and just reply “oh I’m sure you can”
Ralph entered the training room and found Nic sitting on the floor. Everyone was elsewhere— Barry and Iris were heading to the hospital with Joe and Cecile. But the aftermath of DeVoe was dealt with. Most of it. And luckily for Ralph, he had a change of clothes. His normal clothes. Upon his initial arrival back at STAR Labs, Nic had been doting on him and asking if he was okay. But when Caitlin pulled him towards the medical bay, mumbling about checking him over for injuries and “seeing if your dark matter levels were normal,” Nic had wandered off. Cisco was leaving to go to his lab with Harry, commenting that Nic was gone and “must’ve went to the training room to think.” Once given the ‘all-good’ by Caitlin and changed, Ralph went in search of Nic.
So finding her sitting on the floor of the room, staring off into the distance at nothing, Ralph took a seat beside her. Even sitting down she was much shorter than him, but he thought it was cute.
“What a year,” Ralph sighed as he leaned back on his hands.
Nic nodded in agreement, eyes falling to her lap. She picked at the hem of her sleeve— a stray thread. “It’s… been a year.”
“How are you doing?”
“I’m fine.” She looked at him, and it was then he noticed her eyes were a little red. “How are you?”
“We’ll I’m not dead, so that’s good news!” Ralph chuckled, an attempt to make her smile. She cracked a small smile. Mission accomplished.
“It’s nice to have you back, Ralph.”
“It’s nice to be back.” He smiled at her. “Caitlin mentioned you were really worried about me.”
Nic hummed and looked away. Her hair fell into her face, hiding the growing blush on her face. “Yeah, I was… I mean you’re my friend, of course I was.”
“Y’know I was worried about you too.”
“You were?”
Ralph reached over and tucked her hair behind her ear so he could see her face. He nodded. “I was afraid DeVoe would kill you.”
“Well, I’m alive… so you don’t have to worry.”
“I still worry.” He placed his hand on hers, and she ceased her fiddling with her sleeve. Nic opened her hand and allowed their palms to press together. His hand enveloped hers. “When Barry found me in DeVoe’s mind, the easiest way to fight back, to prevent him from affecting us, was to anchor ourselves with thoughts of something we cared about. Or, at least, someone.” Nic could feel her ears growing warm, heart speeding up as he continued. “All I could think about was you; coming back to you.”
Clearing her throat, Nic gathered the courage to speak. “If– If it’s– If it’s any consolation, Ralph…” she looked at him, a smile of relieve and happiness on her features, “…I like you too.” With her free hand, she reached up to cup his cheek and gently pull him down. She kissed softly and sweetly, and he seemed to melt at her touch. “I’m so glad you’re back, Ralph,” she mumbled against his lips.
“I’m glad too,” he replied, grinning as they pull away.
She lightly nudged him with her shoulder. “So, Dibny… do you like shrimp?”
Pairing: Ralph Dibny x Nicole Blake; Platonic Cisco Ramon & Nicole Blake
A/N: I wanted to write a fic of me and Cisco and this was what came to mind!
“What about this one?” Nic asked, looking at herself in the mirror sideways. The white dress was a strapless mermaid cut with lace lining the bottom. It was snug and form fitting; too form fitting in her opinion as she inspected her baby bump. If she got fitted now, whatever dress she chose would undoubtedly be too small come time for the wedding. She looked at her best friend— and Man of Honor —through the mirror.
“I think you look great,” Cisco told her, eyes trained on his phone.
She frowned. “You’re not even looking.” She crossed her arms.
He removed his eyes from the phone and shut it off, tucking it back into his pocket. “I don’t need to to know that you look beautiful in every dress. But seriously, Nic, this is like the tenth dress you tried.”
“It needs to be perfect.” She almost pouted, arms still crossed as she looked to the floor.
“I don’t even know why you guys are having a wedding. Aren’t you already married?”
“It’s for Ralph’s mom,” Nic reminded him. She looked back up at him. “She was a little upset we didn’t have a ceremony and didn’t tell her we eloped. Besides we would’ve had an actual wedding if Crisis didn’t happen.”
Cisco stood from his seat and walked over to her, careful not to step on the dress. He took her hands and squeezed them. “I mean it when I say you look beautiful in everything, Nic. You’re my best friend, why would I lie about that?”
“To make me feel better?”
He shook his head. “If you want my honest opinion, I think dress number three was the one, you were just too stressed to realize it.” Reaching up to tuck some hair behind her ear, he smiled at her. “But honestly, Ralph will love you no matter what you wear.”
“Thanks, Cisco.” She smiled, the first real smile he had seen her make since they stepped into the store.
“It’s no problem. Anything for my best friend.” He hugged her, careful not to ruin the dress. After all, she was just trying it on. “But I hope you know stress isn’t good for the babies.”
Nic rolled her eyes and pulled away. “I know, I know. You, Jessie, and Cait keep reminding me. But if you want to see stress, you should’ve seen Ralph when we were planning seating arrangements. I couldn’t tell if he was gonna eat everything in the fridge or pull out all his hair.”
“And this is why I’m glad you asked me to be your Man of Honor before Ralph could get me to be his best man.” He held onto her arms and made her face the full length mirror. “Now let’s get you into dress number three again and see how you feel.”
“I don’t even remember what it looked like,” Nic told him.
Cisco pulled out his phone and unlocked it. “Don’t worry, I took a picture of it. I took a picture of them all, but still.” He scrolled through the pictures.
“Of course you did,” she laughed and shook her head.
Ralph is totally a hopeless romantic and does romantic gestures for me all the time like making a candlelight dinner after a hard day at work, a trail of rose petals to the bedroom where he’s waiting, and the most romantic thing of all: taking me to a seafood buffet
one of my favorite personal headcanons is that Ralph’s mom cannot cook at all and as a result Ralph is pretty decent at it, he just never had the time or energy to
So I could totally see us cooking together being a huge way for us to spend time together
