I was the middle child: Dave and I, both raised by our older brother. Spent a lot of time trying to protect Dave, didn’t do a great job of it. 

We tried to spend a lot of time out of the apartment. Lots of time at the playground, skateboarding around the neighborhood, finding our ways into abandoned houses, feeding the pigeons. 

Dragging electronics out of the dumpsters together, fixed them up. No trolls, no sburb, just two kids doing their best to survive in Houston. 

Had a lot of splinters. I wasn’t the main one. I was kind of a non-presence that got called in when the main Dirk was out of commission. Miss the other splinters, as well as Dave.
